The leather cross strap helps to support the weight of the pistol when using a holster adapter.

This strap was often part of the leather belt set worn by American soldiers in World War II.

The M1916 model was used as early as 1916, but continued to be used after World War II (such as in Korea and Vietnam).

During World War II, the holster was often attached to the M1936 system with a canvas "pistol belt", which sometimes led to confusion with the M1936 holster.

Paratroopers, such as those of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, used this belt in conjunction with the M1936 suspenders and extensions to lower the holster when wearing other gear.

This is the World War II version, made of brown leather. Our replica is based on an original museum specimen.
