No1 lee Enfield 1907 sword bayonet webbing Frog

The 1937 webbing bayonet frog was made to carry the 1907 bayonet that was issued with the No1 Enfield. The No1 Enfield dated back to WW1 but was still carried by many British Army BEF soldiers in France in 1939 when they retreated back to Dunkirk 1940.

IThe 1907 sword bayonet was latter replaced by the spike bayonet that fitted onto the No4 Enfield but this frog continued to be issued and was modified with a small hole cut in the webbing to fit the stud of a spike bayonet in.
