The US Army during World War II utilized two shelter halves in a dark green shade known as OD#7.
These shelter halves featured triangular end pieces, effectively enclosing the tent's ends.
To connect the two pieces, metal buttons with raised stems were used. These buttons, specially designed to be riveted on, provided enough space for the canvas to fit securely.
While the term "1943 model" is used to identify these shelter halves, it does not necessarily indicate their exact date of issuance.

The earliest known manufacturing date for a double-ended shelter half is 1943, although it was in a different color, OD#3. Since the uniform color changed to OD#7 in 1943, we have chosen to refer to these replica shelter halves in OD#7 as the 1943 model.
Each 1943 green shelter half is equipped with five grommets for pegs: three along the base and one at each end of the flaps. Additionally, there are two grommets in the top corners to accommodate the poles.

Each door is equipped with multiple rows of buttons to secure the flaps, while the roof has nine double rows of buttons to connect the two shelter halves.
The widest point measures 55" in width, while the base of the square section is 65" long.
