These webbing utility straps were standard issue to the British Army and used for a variety of jobs such as tying down Jerry cans to Jeeps and lorries, strapping ammo boxes together or lashing tight a machine gun tripod.
They came in various lengths for different jobs from 2ft to 8ft long, made from 1 inch wide khaki webbing with a special non slip buckle that could be undone easily and quickly.
