This olive green 82nd Airborne Division T-shirt by SgtWilco was specially designed for the 1944–2026 commemorative year. The design remembers three major campaigns in which the American 82nd Airborne Division served during WWII: D-Day in Normandy, Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands and the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes.
The front features the distinctive blue AIRBORNE tab above the red and blue AA emblem of the “All American Division”. Below the emblem are the designation 82 A/B, the names of the campaigns and the years 1944–2026, presented in a bold, lightly weathered style.
The dates mark the special 82-year commemoration of the campaigns of 1944. Operation Market Garden represents an especially important chapter in Dutch history. On 17 September 1944, paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division landed near Grave and Nijmegen with orders to secure strategic bridges and access routes.
The complete design is applied as a multicoloured front print. The illustrated AA emblem is therefore part of the print and is not a separate sewn or embroidered patch.
A meaningful T-shirt for commemorations, Airborne events, historical gatherings and everyday wear. Designed by SgtWilco for Delware Trading, where every print carries a story.
Complete the commemorative presentation with a matching 82nd Airborne item, flag or insignia from our collection.
Historical Context
The 82nd Division was originally formed during the First World War and became known as the “All American Division”, because its soldiers came from all the American states represented at the time. The double AA emblem subsequently became the division’s distinctive insignia. On 15 August 1942, the unit was reorganised as the 82nd Airborne Division, becoming the first United States division to receive the official Airborne designation.
During the early hours of 6 June 1944, paratroopers and glider troops of the 82nd landed behind German lines in Normandy. Their objectives included capturing important routes, bridges and causeways behind Utah Beach.
During Operation Market Garden, the division jumped near Grave and Nijmegen on 17 September 1944. The 82nd was tasked with securing the bridges across the Maas and Waal rivers. The subsequent Waal River crossing at Nijmegen became one of the best-known actions of the operation.
In December 1944, the division was rushed back into action during the Battle of the Bulge. The 82nd defended the northern shoulder of the Allied front in the Ardennes, frequently under severe winter conditions and with limited equipment.
