This Dodge WC Canvas Back Top is a high-quality reproduction of the canvas cover used on the Dodge WC51 (4x4), Dodge WC52 (4x4 with winch), and Dodge WC62/WC63 (6×6) during World War II. Made from durable, water-repellent olive drab (OD#3) canvas, it offers excellent protection against rain, sun, and wind. It follows original wartime specifications and can be ordered via the drop-down menu for both 4x4 and 6×6 models.
History
The Dodge WC series was one of the most widely used light and medium-duty military trucks of WWII.
-
WC51: standard 4x4 cargo truck without winch
-
WC52: 4x4 with heavy-duty front winch for recovery and utility tasks
-
WC62/WC63: extended 6×6 version for transporting more troops or cargo, with the WC63 equipped with a winch
Canvas back tops were used to protect crew and equipment from harsh weather, made from heavy cotton canvas stretched tightly over metal frames. They were a familiar sight in both European and Pacific theaters.
