The British flag, the Union Jack, remained exactly the same during World War II as it had been before the war, as the design and pattern of the flag did not change. The Union Jack is a combination of the three crosses of the saints:
- The red cross of St. George of England.
- The white cross of St. Andrew of Scotland.
- The blue cross of St. Patrick of Ireland.
The only difference between the World War II flag and, for example, the current flag is that its use in different contexts (such as military uniforms, maritime vessels, and aviation) may have varied depending on the situation, but the design itself remained consistent.
