Complete the open cab of your GMC CCKW-352 or CCKW-353 with this historically styled Canvas Cab Top. Also known as a Cover Canvas Top, this canvas roof is fitted over the existing metal cab frame and creates the characteristic appearance of the open-cab GMC.
The cab top is manufactured from durable canvas in a late-war OD7 olive drab colour. Its colour and appearance make it suitable for restored military vehicles representing the later WW2 period. The canvas top is suitable for both the short-wheelbase GMC CCKW-352 and the long-wheelbase GMC CCKW-353 with an open cab.
In the accompanying GMC CCKW-353 canvas parts drawing, this product is clearly identified as part number 3: Cab Top Open Cab. This product consists of the canvas roof section only. The canvas doors, rear cab curtain, cargo cover and other parts shown in the drawing are not included.

Historical Context
From approximately April 1943, GMC CCKW trucks were mainly produced with the type 1619 open cab. This configuration reduced the use of steel and lowered the overall height of the vehicle for transport. The open cab could be enclosed with separate canvas components, including the cab top, canvas doors and rear cab curtain. The CCKW-352 was the short-wheelbase version, while the CCKW-353 used the longer wheelbase.
The canvas cab top became one of the most recognisable features of the late-war GMC. In good weather, parts of the canvas cab enclosure could be removed or rolled away, while the roof provided cover above the driver and passenger area.
