WW2 cotton bandolier for the American M1 Garand .30 cal rifle.

Garand's cotton ammunition bandoliers were initially designed to be disposed of after the ammunition was loaded into the webbing bags, but they turned out to be a very popular way to carry extra ammo by wearing them over the body.

The cotton bandolier is a lightweight 6 pocket bandolier with an attached shoulder strap. Each bag is designed to hold either M1 Garand 8 round clips or bullets on stripper clips (for the Springfield rifle, for example) or it can hold 15 th magazines for the M1 Carbine.

M1 Garand bandolier will hold 6 x 8th clips of ammunition and was used by all US soldiers in WW2 using the M1 Garand, including infantry, paratroopers, Rangers and armored troops. Two bandoliers were often slung over the shoulders.
