The 310th Troop Carrier Squadron was part of the 31st Troop Carrier Group of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). This squadron played a crucial role in Allied airborne operations, primarily in Europe. They used the Douglas C-47 Skytrain, the military version of the civilian DC-3, which was one of the Allies' most important transport aircraft.
Airborne and Para-droppings: The 310th Squadron was involved in major airborne operations, such as the D-Day landings (Normandy) and Operation Market Garden. The squadron's C-47s were used to deliver paratroopers and equipment to appropriate locations behind enemy lines.
