The No.4 Spike Bayonet was deveolped as a replacement for the long bladed Pattern 1907 bayonet. Short, light, sturdy and simple, the bayonet was easily made by firms not associated with arms manufacture. As the war progressed the bayonets got cheaper and cruder. Nearly 5 million bayonets were made during WW2.
It was nicknamed "Pigsticker" by soldiers.
The bayonet is original and the scabbard is an accurate reproduction and comes complete with the accompanying "Frog" webbing .
