This original US M1C Paratrooper Helmet is an iconic collectible from World War II, as used by American airborne forces during the famous Operation Market Garden in September 1944. The helmet consists of an original M1C outer shell, authentic helmet liner, and standard infantry chinstrap. It represents a historically accurate piece from the time when the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions made their legendary parachute jumps over the Netherlands.
This particular setup is based on a 1st Lieutenant of the 1st Battalion, 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) – an elite unit within the 101st Airborne Division. During Market Garden, the battalion was deployed in the area of Son, Best, and Sint-Oedenrode, tasked with securing bridges and critical roadways to allow the Allied advance toward Eindhoven.
1st Lieutenants were frontline officers, leading platoons and coordinating reconnaissance missions under enemy fire. Their helmets often featured white officer stripes and unit-specific markings.
