The US WW2 1943 Women’s M43 Jacket is a reproduction of the field jacket worn by female personnel serving in the United States Army during the Second World War. This style was commonly associated with women serving in units such as the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and other supporting branches.
The design follows the M43 uniform pattern, introduced in 1943 as part of a modernization of US Army field uniforms. This women’s version features a slightly tailored silhouette while retaining the characteristic military details such as chest pockets, strong button closure and shoulder epaulettes.
Made from durable cotton in Olive Drab, the jacket reflects the practical and functional style of wartime US Army uniforms. It is ideal for re-enactment, living history displays, museum use or historical collections.
This reproduction is produced by Kay Canvas, a manufacturer known for high quality reproductions of historical military garments.
At the moment this jacket is available only in UK size 10 and 12.

Historische Context
During World War II the role of women within the United States Army expanded significantly. In 1942 the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) was established, later reorganized as the Women’s Army Corps (WAC). Thousands of women served in essential roles such as administration, communications, transport, logistics and technical support.
To equip these personnel properly, uniforms were adapted to suit female service members. The M43 uniform, introduced in 1943, became the basis for several uniform variants for both male and female personnel.
Although women rarely served directly in combat roles, their work was vital to the operational capability of the US Army. Their uniforms reflected the same practical and military design as those worn by male soldiers, but with a more tailored fit.
Today these uniform items represent an important part of the history of women in military service and are frequently used in living history displays and historical re-enactments.
