WW2 British Parachute Helmet

The early British Parachute Helmets were first introduced in 1942, first with the P Type Helmet and then with the 'helmet, steel, airborne troops', HSAT.

This Parachute helmet comes with a high-quality thick leather lining. The inside of the liner is stamped with the size inside a shield, flanked by a date from 1942. This date was chosen because of the use of the helmet in the mid-war. The BMB at the top of the stamp indicates Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd of Dagenham, who made helmets for the British Army until 1943.

To keep the helmet safe, there is a chin strap as part of the leather liner, and the helmets also come with a small helmet pad that would have been glued to the inside of the helmet for a bit of head comfort!
