WW2 CANADIAN PARACHUTE CORPS BRASS CAP BADGE
Formed in July 1942 during the Second World War, the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion was a battalion of the Canadian Army specializing in airborne infantry. Its notable achievements include participating in the D-Day landings in Normandy as part of Operation Tonga in June 1944, and the airborne assault crossing of the River Rhine in Operation Varsity in March 1945. Following the conclusion of the war in Europe, the battalion was disbanded in Canada on 30 September 1945.
