Add a distinctive and instantly recognizable detail to your British special forces impression with this SAS Cloth Cap Badge. This embroidered badge features the famous SAS emblem with the winged dagger and the motto Who Dares Wins, set on a dark shield-shaped backing with contrasting colours. That makes it a striking yet tasteful addition to a beret, display, or collection.

For collectors, reenactors, and enthusiasts of British elite units, this is a particularly attractive item with strong visual impact. The embroidered construction gives the badge an authentic field-made look that suits a WWII-inspired SAS presentation very well. The emblem is closely tied to the identity of the Special Air Service and remains one of the best-known military symbols in British service history.

Subtiel advies
A fine match with a proper SAS beret, parachutist or special forces equipment, and other British WWII insignia for a more complete and historically convincing display.

Historische Context
This SAS Cloth Cap Badge can genuinely be linked to the Second World War. Imperial War Museums describes this type as an embroidered SAS cap badge from the Second World War and notes that David Stirling privately arranged for the insignia to be made by a Cairo tailor to strengthen the identity of his new unit. The design began as a concept related to the “Sword of Damocles” but became the familiar winged dagger with the motto Who Dares Wins.

There is, however, a small nuance for period purists: IWM examples show that different wartime and later variants existed in colour arrangement, proportions, and overall shape. Some examples were longer and slimmer, while later ones could appear shorter and broader. So the base design is clearly WWII, but the exact dating of an individual example often depends on construction, embroidery, and finish.
