The Parachute First-Aid Packet was originally designed for use by the US Air Force at the start of WW2. It was issued to all pilots and those in planes who wore parachutes and contained supplies to treat wounds which could incur during descent or landing. In 1942, when the first US Airborne units were founded, the aid packet was issued to all paratroopers as an emergency personal aid kit.
