Give your WWII vehicle a recognisable Allied appearance with this large size Allied Invasion Star stencil. This large stencil is suitable for use on the hood or larger body panels of vehicles such as the Willys MB Jeep, Ford GPW Jeep, Dodge WC and GMC CCKW truck.
The marking features the well-known white five-point star with surrounding circle, used as an Allied recognition marking on military vehicles. With this product, you can choose between a closed ring or an open / broken ring. The closed ring gives a clean and well-finished restoration look, while the open ring reflects a more field-applied stencil appearance.
Because of its larger size, this stencil is especially suitable for vehicles where a clear and visible hood marking is desired. Ideal for re-enactment vehicles, museum vehicles, living history displays, film productions and restoration projects.

Historical Context
The white star with circle was used during WWII as an Allied vehicle recognition marking, including aerial recognition. Around the Normandy invasion period and later Allied operations, this marking was widely applied to Jeeps, Dodge vehicles, GMC trucks and other military vehicles.
In practice, there was no single perfect standard version. Markings were often applied by units themselves using paint, field stencils or improvised methods. As a result, size, placement and execution could vary from vehicle to vehicle and from unit to unit. Some vehicles had a fully closed circle, while others showed an open or broken ring caused by the bridges of the stencil.
For a clean restoration, the closed ring is a strong choice. For a rougher field-applied or Normandy invasion look, an open or broken ring is also historically defendable. This variation is part of what makes WWII vehicle markings so distinctive.
