This item is inspired by the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment, known for their valiant efforts during the Allied landings at Juno Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. As part of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, they landed in the Normandy coastal town of St. Aubin-sur-Mer, where they overcame fierce resistance and advanced into inland France.

After their deployment in Normandy, they fought on in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany - including contributions to the Battle of the Scheldt and the liberation of parts of Friesland and Groningen.
