This canvas driver seat back cushion cover is specially manufactured for a WWII Willys MB / Ford GPW Jeep with a modified driver seat frame.
On this particular Jeep, the driver's seat backrest has been extended by approximately 10 cm / 4 inches to provide a more comfortable seating position for a taller driver. Because of this modification, a standard Willys MB / Ford GPW seat back cushion will no longer fit correctly.
This version is therefore custom-made to suit the extended seat frame. Its construction and appearance are based on the original WWII front seat back cushion, historically referenced as WO A-2985, while the dimensions are adapted to the modified driver's seat.
The cushion is finished in characteristic military Olive Drab canvas, maintaining the authentic appearance associated with the wartime Willys MB and Ford GPW.
Please note: this is a custom-made product for an extended driver seat frame and is not dimensionally identical to a standard WO A-2985 seat back cushion.
Historical Context
During World War II, the Willys MB and Ford GPW Jeeps were fitted with simple, durable canvas seat cushions designed for military service.
One of the Willys references associated with the front seat back covering was WO A-2985 – Front Seat Back Cover Assembly / Trim.
Original Jeep seat frames were manufactured to standard dimensions. On this vehicle, however, the driver's backrest has been extended by approximately 10 cm / 4 inches, providing additional back support and improved seating for a taller driver.
This reproduction therefore combines the authentic appearance of a WWII Jeep seat cushion with custom dimensions specifically made for the modified vehicle.
