This bombardier is prepared to enter the front of his B-17F after the morning briefing, just before his 25th mission. While wearing his F-1 heated suit, he has added thigh pockets to his A-4 suit for extra storage. To avoid spilling the contents during an emergency, he has also attached a buttoned flap to the original pockets. The rest of his flying attire includes a Type A-2 leather jacket, fur-lined Type A-6 boots, and a B-2 cap made of shearling.
His flight equipment consists of a Type B-3 life preserver, a Type B-7 parachute worn on the back with an abdominal belt, and a Type A-8B oxygen mask that he is holding in his hand.
