At the Ashfield base, inside the spacious locker room, a crew member is getting ready for the flight. They begin putting on the F-3 suit, which is designed to keep them warm in the cold air. The suit is heated and has electrically heated liners that provide extra warmth.
The F-3 suit consists of a trouser lining that has a cable and plug connected to a rheostat in the aircraft. There is also a jacket lining with a short cable that can be connected to the trousers. Additionally, there are heated gloves that can be snapped on and a pair of felt boots, similar to the ones in the F-2 suit.
All the heated equipment, which was considered standard issue, is usually hung up in the clothing area along with the parachutes.
Attention: Unfortunately, there is no F-3 reproduction available, so we cannot supply it. However, it doesn't matter for the portrayal of this shooter, as most of the parts are available in reproductions. Alternatively, you can also choose the Flight suit A4 USAAF and the USAAF B3 Bomber Gunner Pilot Jacket. We have added some original photos where you can see that this crew has different types of pants, but it is an old and faded photo. However, we assume that the color of the overalls and trousers is mustard.
